Nexgen Carbon Flex earns perfect scores in both visual appeal and durability, making it one of the stronger long-term protection options on the market. Its slickness is solid at 7.5/10, but hydrophobicity is a notable weak point, scoring just 2.5/10 with a contact angle of 89.9 degrees, which falls well short of what enthusiasts typically expect from a ceramic coating. It's not technically hydrophobic.
The gloss meter recorded a loss of 7.3 GU, meaning it reduces surface reflectivity rather than enhancing it. This is actually a fairly significant drop, most coatings gain/lose just a gloss unit or two. One thing to point out is that this test was done on our older 94GU panel while newer tests are done on 88GU panels. Ultimately this product is best suited for detailers prioritizing longevity and aesthetics over water behavior.
